The record number of new car sales and the success of the recent model range has driven strong growth for the New Zealand branch of the Ford Motor Company. An existing relationship with Goodman enabled the customer to relocate its business operations to efficient new facilities at Highbrook Business Park.
Legacy premises in Wiri, that adjoined the old VANZ vehicle assembly facility, were no longer appropriate for a leading automotive company. New office space to support the national dealer network and an efficient parts distribution centre to supply the country were essential requirements.
The company shared the Highbrook vision and was one of the first customers to commit to Green Star rated office space in 2010. A separate design-built 10,150 sqm parts warehouse followed five years later.
Flexible workspaces were integrated into Ford’s new 1,500 sqm office. Accommodating around 50 staff, it can be easily configured into seminar and conference spaces for dealer training and promotional events.
With an 11 metre stud, the design of the new distribution centre utilises Ford’s global warehousing template. The warehouse utilises the latest racking and forklift technology and provides full parts inventory for the country. Future planning has ensured it has the capacity to support a growing new model range.
Ford embraced the opportunity that Highbrook offered, locating its head office and national parts warehouse within the award-winning estate.
