Logistics customer story: Coda

Coda is an innovative logistics company whose main aim is to reduce waste while exceeding customer expectations.

Overview

Coda sought a property solution to accommodate a new intermodal freight hub in Auckland. Goodman’s Ōtāhuhu site with access to rail provided the answer.

Solution

Goodman worked with Coda to create new and innovative rail-served infrastructure, with two rail sidings under a 6,500 sqm canopy and a freight handling cross-dock abutting 13,000 sqm of warehousing.

Energy efficient features such as LED lights, daylight harvesting in warehouse area, power check metering and efficient heating and cooling systems, as well as water efficient fittings were incorporated into the development.

Results

Since it opened in December 2016, the site has grown to handle more than 300 20-foot equivalent container loads of goods daily and has quadrupled in size.

It has integrated import, export and domestic production – removing trucks from the road, saving fuel, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing New Zealand’s overall supply chain capability.
